Spoilers: Phil asks Callum to work for him in huge EastEnders twist
24th September 2020

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was left impressed with Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) in EastEnders tonight (September 24) and therefore issued him with a proposition, but little does he know that the young copper is conspiring against him.

Callum agreed to help DI Steve Thompson (Phillip Wright) secure evidence to put Phil behind bars in exchange for Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) being freed from police custody.

However, Richie Scott (Sian Webber) was confused by the manner in which Ben was let go, as she confirmed that the police had more than enough evidence to charge him — meaning that something fishy was going on.

In tonight’s episode, Phil confronted Ben and Callum on the manner, and Callum once again tried to covered his tracks — but his words left Phil certain that there was more to this than meets the eye.

Determined to get to the bottom of it, he confronted Callum once more, and this time, the young copper concocted a believable cover story — informing Phil that his boss is as dodgy as they come.

Therefore, he claimed he used his boss’ criminal activities to blackmail him into letting Ben go.

Phil was impressed with Callum’s resolve — not to mention the lengths he was willing to go to in order to protect his family — and thus he wasted little time in asking him to work for him.

In other words, Phil would like Callum to keep an ear out in the station regarding anything that may or may not be said in relation to the Mitchell clan.

What will Callum’s answer be?

The young man is in way over his head in regards to setting Phil up, but the hard-man’s proposition promises to complicate things so much further.

EastEnders continues Friday September 25 at 8:30pm on BBC One.
