After suffering the longest “Droughtlander” due to the pandemic, fans of the Starz historical drama have the opportunity to meet Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and other key people in the series. After the actor shared the announcement on Instagram, viewers couldn’t contain their excitement about the upcoming event.
Comic-Con will be making its huge return to New York for its annual fan convention after the coronavirus pandemic forced it to become virtual.
Actor Sam Heughan took to Instagram to share Outlander would be a part of the annual event and he would be there in person.
Joining him with an in-person appearance and autograph signing will be author Diana Gabaldon and the show’s executive producer Maril Davis.
The announcement sparked a huge frenzy in the comment section, as fans were more than pleased to be able to attend the event.
Taking to his comments Rema shared: “I can’t wait to see you, this has truly made my day that you will be there.”
Sandra shared her appreciation: “Can’t wait, a great gift to us fans – thankyou.”
Ana couldn’t contain her excitement and warned the actor: “Are you ready to be mobbed, if greetings are elbow touching only, you need an elbow pad.”

Sam posted the promotional poster and in the caption, he wrote: “NY!!! How I’ve missed you all and that great city! Can’t wait to see you there!”
He went on to give fans a detailed list of which cast members would be attending, whether that be in person or via a virtual link.
The list included fan favourite stars such as Caitriona Balfe, Lauren Lyle, Sophie Skelton and Cesar Domby.
This announcement comes as the long-awaited good news fans needed after the last instalment of the series season five ended in May 2020.
The reaction to Outlander’s appearance at the New York Comic Con is also likely to be welcomed by show bosses who angered fans with the news of a new home for the series.
UK fans were left fuming after it was announced the historical series would be moving from Amazon Prime to Starz.
Many of the viewers complained about the relocation as it meant most of them would have to pay for another streaming service to continue watching the shows.
Whilst some were angered, others welcomed the news as Starz currently have a promotional offer for the new customers, which is cheaper than the monthly cost of Amazon Prime.
According to its website, StarzPlay is available via Amazon or through the StarzPlay app for £1.99 for the first six months, and £4.99 thereafter.
Whereas Amazon Prime costs £7.99 per month or £5.99 a month for the video only service.
Due to the limited capacity at the Javits Center, the event will also be streamed for those at home.
Fans are able to purchase a digital ticket to enjoy panels such as Outlander and those with in-person tickets can register for autograph passes.
Outlander season six will premiere early 2022 on Starz in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
