Months of the dreaded Droughtlander have finally come to an end as Lionsgate+ and Starz have confirmed the release date for season seven. In just a few months, Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) will be back on screens.
Following the season six finale in May, fans have been eagerly awaiting Outlander’s return after the romance drama came to a cliffhanger ending.
Thankfully for fans, Lionsgate+ has revealed season seven will premiere on Tuesday, June 16 in the UK.
The instalment will be significantly longer than season six which only consisted of eight episodes.
The streaming giants have announced the eagerly awaited seasons will have an extended 16 episodes, which will be split into two parts.
More to follow…
Each part of season seven will contain eight episodes, with the latter half airing in 2024.
As well as the release date, Outlander has also released insightful first-look images which could provide a major clue to the storyline.
In one image Claire can be seen resting against a fence and staring in the distance.
The home she shares with Jamie is in the background which hints at her safe return to Fraser’s Ridge and a not-guilty charge.
