'OutDaughtered' Fans Think Danielle and Adam Busby Actually Bought the Home They've Been Renting
12th July 2019

While there are plenty of unique families on reality TV, we’ve all fallen in love with the Busbys featured on TLC’s OutDaughtered. Adam and Danielle Busby are the parents of their 8-year-old daughter, Blayke, and the only group of all-female quintuplets in the United States. While Adam and Danielle are amazing parents and have plenty of funny stories to tell when it comes to caring for all of their kids, their lives are unbelievably hectic, too.

On this season of OutDaughtered, the couple had to move out of their house after one of their kids kept getting sick — and we also watched them move into a temporary rental home. Now, fans are starting to think they never actually went back to their old house. Here’s why.

Adam and Danielle had to leave their home due to mold

When Danielle found her daughter, Ava, having respiratory issues that seemingly were only getting worse, she knew something was wrong. As the concerned mom said in this clip, “It sounds like someone struggling to breathe and that is terrifying.” Danielle eventually took Ava to a doctor, and soon, Adam and Danielle figured out the reason for Ava’s health struggles: mold.

The concerned parents brought in a mold inspector and were given seriously awful news. “The whole upstairs seems to be covered with mold and it’s really bad in Ava and Olivia’s room, so my stomach is turning over because the numbers are like, astronomical,” People reports Danielle said.

The Busbys were then told by the inspector that all clothing needed to be washed, and mattresses and pillows needed to be thrown away. “And then you need a full-blown mold remediation contractor to come in and HEPA vacuum everything, clean everything. It’s a big process. If the tests pass, then you can live in it,” the inspector continued.

They found a home they could rent for six months before moving back

Moving isn’t easy for anyone, let alone the Busby family of eight. But because of the mold cleaning process that had to be done to their home, Danielle and Adam were left with no choice but to move into a temporary home. It was helpful that Danielle’s mother is in the housing business, as she was able to help the couple find something they could stay in — but it certainly wasn’t easy. As Danielle mentioned in this house hunting clip, “At this point, I’m just getting desperate. I just want to find something that we can make work.”

Danielle ended up looking at a home that only had three bedrooms and no bathtubs for the quints, but she knew her options were limited. “It’s only six months and I don’t think we have the option to be picky right now,” she added in the clip.

Before the video footage of Danielle looking for a new home even aired, fans caught on that the Busbys had moved thanks to their social media pages, too. In Touch Weekly notes Adam and Danielle briefly explained the situation at the end of 2018. “We couldn’t really get around it. The only way the issues have been … could have been fixed in the house was by us not being there. So we couldn’t stay,” Adam vaguely mentioned.

Did they keep the new house? Fans think so

When Danielle was looking at her new temporary home, she didn’t seem to be thrilled with the layout. But now, fans are starting to think the family kept the new home after all. On this photo Danielle posted to Instagram, Parker and Hazel are outside by the pool, which we know is a feature of their temporary home. And one fan asked, “Are you all staying in that rental longer then 6 months? [sic].” To that, others chimed in. “I’m betting that they bought it!” one fan added. Another commented, “I was wondering the same thing!”

We know Adam and Danielle moved their family into the rental home around Christmas of 2018 — so if they’re still posting photos of the quints by the pool of the rental, that likely means they’ve stayed past their six-month benchmark. Could it be that their first home just needs extra mold cleaning, or did the Busbys really make a permanent move? We’ll have to wait and find out.
