11th April 2023

Doctors star Matthew Chambers has revealed that today (April 4) is his final day filming for the BBC soap.

The actor, who plays the role of Daniel Granger, revealed the news on his Twitter, sharing a picture of his final ever script.

‘Lastdayitis’, he wrote alongside.

This news, of course, prompted many people to share their thoughts on Matt leaving the show, with one fan writing: ‘It’s not going to be the same without you. Wishing you all the best though!’.

Could heartbreak be on the way for this iconic couple?

Elsewhere, Doctors fans are only now getting over the exit of another legendary character – Karen Hollins (Jan Pearson), who died.

The popular character, who has been a mainstay at Letherbridge for 14 years, had been contemplating a fresh start with husband Rob (Chris Walker) in recent weeks, set to leave for good.

But upsetting scenes on Thursday (March 30) saw Rob return home to find his beloved Karen unconscious on the sofa.

Without wasting a moment, the policeman called an ambulance, with paramedics subsequently arriving at the scene, before pronouncing her dead.
