MARK Wright held back tears as he gave an emotional speech at a star-studded children's charity bash.

The TOWIE legend was joined by his family who supported him as he hosted the gala in aid of the Haven House Children's Hospice in Essex.

Mark was praised for his emotional speech about children as he was joined his mum Carol, dad Mark Wright Snr and sister Jessica at a star-studded Haven House children’s charity event.

The Wright family came to support as Mark was hosting the Haven House event at The Londoner hotel on Wednesday night.

Mark, who looked dapper in his tux, said: "I'm just so proud to support a local charity that does such great work," before getting ‘choked up’ and emotional over how much they support the children.

A guest said: "Mark got a bit choked up during his intro – about how important it is to help the kids. There wasn't a dry eye in the house after his speech. "

Legendary BBC star named greatest British TV presenter of all time

He is one of the presenters of The Challenge: War Of The Worlds, which will air around the globe later in the new year.

He got the job following his success hosting the British version of the game on Channel 5, which is due to be broadcast next month.

And Channel 5 bosses were so impressed, he has been asked back to present a second series of that, too.

The series involves reality stars competing in stunt-heavy adventures to win cash prizes and avoid elimination.

A source said: “Mark wrapped filming on War Of The Worlds at the start of this month.

“They filmed the series in South Africa and it was a dream gig for Mark, who really got into it.

“He was chosen as a presenter because of his ease on camera during the British version of the show, which goes out on Channel 5 in January."
