Love Island villa sealed off after Covid scare as Islanders are forced out of filming area
7th July 2021

THE Islanders were forced out of the filming area today as the villa underwent a deep clean after an intruder broke into their home.

The YouTuber was removed by security before he came into contact with any of the Islanders, but the programme’s strict Covid guideline meant the place had to be sanitized before it could be used again.

A Love Island spokesman said: "Last night a security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the villa with immediate effect.

"The safety of both our islanders and our production crew remains our primary concern.

"As part of our stringent Covid safety measures, the villa area that was trespassed has been fully deep cleaned before being made accessible again to the islanders and crew."

YouTube prankster Omer Majid filmed himself on a live broadcast in a corridor before he can be seen underneath a pair of bright fluorescent lights.

A voice can be heard shouting “you’re trespassing” before the trickster is dragged out.

He can then be seen walking down a pathway with lines of electric fairy lights visible behind him.

It is understood the intruder was searched and released by guards but police were not called.

Majid, who has just 11,000 followers on YouTube posted a series of Instagram stories that hinted at his presence on the island of Majorca, home of the Love Island villa.

One Instagram story from the YouTube star showed a hot air-balloon promoting Cala Ratjada, a fishing port on the northeastern side of the holiday island.

The villa is guarded by a team of security guards who are said to fend off would-be trespassers at least five times a day.

Ex-contestant Alex Miller previously said: “When I left, I chatted with the guys who looked after us.

“They told me at least five people a day try to access that villa – but so far no one has got in.

“They’re clearly doing a good job! I was impressed.”

A show spokesman previously said: “There is round the clock, wide security coverage at the villa site and the islanders’ protection and safety is our top priority.”

A show insider confirmed extra security has now been added – but stressed none of the contestants had come into contact with Majid.
