LOVE Island was plunged into chaos last night as a wildfire raged next to the £1.2million villa in South Africa.
Fire crews rushed to get the blaze under control just two fields across from the plush Love Island pad.
Insiders confirmed to The Sun that an evacuation plan was put in place for the show’s contestants and crew and said that show bosses were on high alert.
A source said: “Fire crews were rushed to Ludus Magnus estate after a wildfire broke out just two fields away from the villa.
“The winds were pretty high so there were concerns the blaze could move towards the villa but the fire crews managed to get it under control.
“Naturally the welfare of everyone on the show is the main priority and an evacuation plan has been put in place if it’s needed.

“Wildfires are not uncommon in South Africa but it doesn’t make it any less worrying as they can be so destructive.
“The blaze burned for around three hours before it was put under control.
“A local fire crew are now monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of everyone in the vicinity.”
A spokeswoman for ITV said: “A fire brigade has attended a fire in the local area.

“The incident is not on the Villa grounds. Love Island cast and crew are completely safe.”
Last week on Love Island a shock recoupling saw Martin Akinola dumped from the villa.
In a new interview today the software engineer from Dublin poured scorn on Tanya and Shaq’s rekindled romance and insisted they would not last outside the villa.
Martin said: “I don’t think Claudia and Casey or Shaq and Tanya would work on the outside. “Claudia and Casey because they give me friend vibes, I think they are more suited to friends.
“They don’t really give me couple vibes.
“And Shaq and Tanya because so much has happened, especially with Tanya. On the outside there are going to be more and more tests.
“On the outside, there’ll be more and more temptations.”
Martin was embroiled in a love triangle with Tanya and Shaq after he wooed her in Casa Amor.
But despite being dumped from the island after Tanya chose to get back with Shaq, Martin said he wished her well.
He added: “She followed her heart – which was fair enough – but she went about it the wrong way.
“That’s what I had a problem with. I felt like I needed to know before her little speech at the bridge.
“She should have told me earlier and given me a head’s up.
“I feel I deserved that little bit of respect. I didn’t get that. That’s why the row happened. I told her good luck and I wish her and Shaq well.
