Love Island fans convinced ITV ‘leaked’ voting result to cover Maya Jama mistake
14th March 2023

Eagle eyed Love Island fans believe ITV leaked an advert for Aftersun after Maya Jama accidentally leaked that a viewer favourite couple would be dumped from the villa.

Host Maya shared a clip of the Love Island team on her social media during the penultimate episode where sharp eyed viewers spotted Will Young and Jessie Wynter in the background, giving a major clue that they had been dumped.

As a result, suspicious viewers believe ITV then lined up an advert for Aftersun with sneak peeks of the couple.

Straight after host Maya Jama revealed Will and Jessie would be returning to feature on Aftersun.

One conspiracy theory floated by fans is that ITV had to act quickly given the apparent leak by Maya, as one wrote on Twitter: "They definitely showed the aftersun advert to cover up maya accidentally leaking who left."

A second agreed, as they tweeted: "Producers saw Maya already leaked who got dumped so just thought to tell us on the advert for Aftersun."

A third added: "WTH, the Aftersun advert gave away who was being dumped?"

The advert formed part of the finale episode of the reality show, which concluded on Monday night (13 March).

Viewers watched as Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan were subsequently crowned the winners of Winter Love Island 2023, taking home an eye-watering £50,000 cash prize.

Tanya and Shaq came fourth behind Samie Elishi and Tom Clare, with Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall placed in second.
