Louise Minchin welcomed Dr Nighat Arif onto BBC Breakfast on Monday (June 21) morning’s show. The pair were discussing the coronavirus vaccination program in the UK when the interview went awry. Nighat was forced to correct Louise after she made a mistake when referring to the Delta variant.
Louise began, saying: “Really interesting and also importantly we know about the Delta vaccine.
“What can you tell us about how effective it is at the moment against the Delta vaccine – oh the delta I should have said variant Nighat!
“I know you’ll pick me up at 6:30 in the morning nicely,” the presenter said while laughing at her error.
Nighat replied: “I will correct you on that, which you know I hate correcting you.”
