LINE of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has given fans a first look of Arnott, Fleming and Hastings 'grilling a bent copper' on the set of season six.
Teasing viewers with what's in store, Jed shared two images of the show's stars in character, doing what they do best.
The first picture saw DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) and DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) looking stern-faced as they lined up in front of a desk, ready to interrogate a suspect.
The second Twitter snap showed the trio with their heads down and clearly exhausted from their interrogation.
Jed captioned the images with the words: "#LineofDuty6 Grilling a bent copper … before and after".
One fan wrote: "Aren’t they supposed to be the A Team? Seriously, I can’t wait to watch series 6!"
Another joked: "Just a dad and his two impish teenagers".
A third admitted: "Always my favourite scenes I need total and utter silence when watching AC12 do their thing!"
The series' creator then went on to further delight fans with pictures of Fleming and Arnott fooling around behind their boss' back.
"Poor Gaffer … he gets no respect around here," joked Jed.
Line of Duty is one of the most popular shows on the BBC and follows Fleming, Hastings and Arnott as they investigate crooked cops.
Filming was put on hold for the show's sixth season due to the coronavirus pandemic before resuming in Belfast in September.
It is currently hoped the new series will air sometime in 2021.
Kelly MacDonald is also joining the cast for the new series.
She will play Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, who raises suspicions at AC-12.
