TV presenter Katie Piper has opened up on her biggest struggle after jetting off to the US for her latest television venture.

Katie, 39, has spoken candidly about her 'mum-guilt' after being forced to leave her children in order to film her brand new documentary abroad.

She has been working on her upcoming documentary Katie Piper: Babies Behind Bars and told the Mirror of the "irrational guilt" she feels when she is away working.

Katie told the publication: “Like many women, I have this irrational guilt about working and leaving the children.

“I was really struggling with it with regards to my US trip – I missed the school play, I missed their homework."

She went onto add: “It’s very much a female thing. I think if you have a career and a family, you feel a responsibility to make sure no cracks show in any of the roles.
