Jacqui Smith has been confirmed as the 12th and final contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Home Secretary, who frequently appears on Good Morning Britain as a political correspondent, has completed the line-up for the highly-anticipated series.
Jacqui said: ‘I was speechless with excitement at being asked to join Strictly – and that’s very rare for me.
‘Fifty years ago, I got a bronze medal for Scottish Highland Dancing and it feels about time to return to dancing. I couldn’t be in better hands with the Strictly team and I’m going to throw myself into the challenge. Watch out!’
However, her appearance wasn’t a complete surprise to fans, after Ben Shephard accidentally confirmed the news on Good Morning Britain
Presenter Ben was wrapping up an interview with the former Home Secretary when he seemingly made the blunder.
‘We will miss the jugs that are behind you every morning,’ he continued.
‘My jugs are always on display for you, Ben, you’re alright,’ she laughed in response.
‘Whatever happens Jacqui, best of luck,’ Ben offered.
Jacqui’s set to be in good company, as she joins her GMB pal Ranvir Singh, who has also been confirmed for the line-up.
Also joining Jacqui and Ranvir are the likes of popstar HRVY, EastEnders’ Maisie Smith, DJ Clara Amfo, and comedian Bill Bailey.
JJ Chalmers is set to grace the dance floor, as well as Max George, Caroline Quentin, and Jason Bell, with Jamie Laing and Nicola Adams also getting their chance to win the glitter ball trophy.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One soon.
