PHILLIP Schofield is living a 'lonely life' months after his brutal This Morning exit, with his days taken up with therapy sessions and doing odd jobs.
According to sources close to the shamed star, 61, his life has changed in a way that would have been 'inconceivable' to him just a year ago.
While his former best friend and This Morning co-host Holly WIlloughby was all smiles and she hit the NTAs red carpet with her colleagues this week, Phillip's world is a million miles from his previous existence.
The Mail claims that the veteran broadcaster now spends much of his time taking long solo walks, fixing things around the home of his estranged wife Stephanie Lowe and attending weekly therapy sessions.
He also spends extensive periods in Cornwall caring for his elderly mother.
A pal told the publication: "Phil's life has changed in a way that previously would have been inconceivable for him to have imagined.

Phillip Schofield’s daughters follow dad’s lead with huge snub to Holly
"Look at this time last year, when he was also returning to This Morning after a holiday in the next-door villa to Holly and her family. Now he has nothing apart from a lot of time on his hands. It is almost like he has taken early retirement but obviously not through choice."
The friend claims that as well as spending time "licking his wounds", Phil can't bear to watch the show he helped make such a huge success.
"Watching that was the last thing he would have done," they told, adding that Phil is instead focusing on reckoning with past mistakes and looking to the future.
He is spending a lot of time talking to a therapist, at least once a week. That's what he is mainly doing right now, reflecting on what he did wrong and trying to come to terms with his new life. It has all been an incredible shock for him and he is struggling to get his head around it.

PHIL-TERED OUT
Phillip Schofield’s daughters follow dad’s lead with huge snub to Holly
"He feels like he needs to have someone professional to talk it all through with. The situation has put a lot of stress on his family and he decided that he needed another outlet."
Phil is also said to be back on speaking terms with the mother of his two children, Steph, and has been doing odd jobs at the family home in Oxfordshire.
He is also spending stretches of time down in Cornwall, looking after his mum, Pat, 87.
He is her sole carer since his brother Timothy was jailed for child sex offences earlier this year.
Phil has had lots of support from his daughters, Molly and Ruby Schofield, who have followed in their dad's footsteps by unfollowing Holly on social media.
A source told DailyMail: “Both Molly and Ruby have seen their father go through hell, they have been at his side as he has lost everything.
“Meanwhile, by following Holly on Instagram they see her carrying on with her life.
“The whole scandal has taken its toll on them, their support for him has been unwavering and this is the final nail. They are staunchly loyal to their dad, despite everything that has gone on.”
Holly and Phillip's working relationship came to a shock end in May when the latter admitted to lying to her and show bosses about a six-month affair with a much younger male colleague.
