Inside Loose Women divorces – from secret splits to cheating scandals
25th November 2023

From Janet Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan, to Jane Moore, there’s no denying the stars of Loose Women are a bit unlucky when it comes to love. In fact, they’ve even joked themselves over the years that the show is cursed because so many of them file for divorce after joining.

Now, as Linda Robson calls it quits with her husband of 33-years Mark Dunford, the curse could be making the rounds again…

Linda Robson

The 65-year-old actress recently announced that she was divorcing husband Mark Dunford after 33 years together.

The couple, who wed in 1990 and share two children, Louis, 31, and Roberta, 27, together, first met when Linda would babysit for him, and have been married since 1990. However, they’ve now sadly confirmed they’ve called time on their marriage.

Linda, who has previously admitted they ‘both want different things’ said, “He’s a really good dad and we had some good years, but enough is enough.

“I’m keeping busy. I feel fine. I’m just going away on trips all the time.”

However, it appears things haven’t been quite so rosy for them in recent years as they’ve been candid about being plagued with marital struggles.

These testing times included the fact they haven’t been intimate for over two years and their kids each being subjected to traumatic events when Lauren was diagnosed with bulimia and Louis with PTSD.

It sounds like happier times are on the horizon for them both!

Coleen Nolan

Coleen has had her fair share of heartache of the years, including the breakdown of her first marriage to EastEnders ’ Shane Richie and her most-recent divorce from second husband Ray Fensome.

The 58-year-old said ‘I do’ to Shane in 1900 and had two sons – Shane, 34, and Jake, 31 – together. However, they split in 1999 after claims he was unfaithful. Coleen then thought she’d found her happily-ever-after in guitarist Ray Fensome, but it wasn’t to last.

Writing in her Agony Aunt column in the Mirror, the singer cited the reason for divorce as an attempt to be happy again and also admitted she stayed in her two marriages because of her children.

She wrote: “Women who’ve tried everything to fix a marriage but still feel desperately unhappy, have to get out. We owe it to ourselves. And we also owe it to our kids to show them that everyone has a right to be happy.”

However, on an exciting note, Coleen was linked to a new flame Michael Jones, who she met on a dating app, and exclusively revealed to OK! this year that she’s ready for another shot at love.

Janet Street-Porter

You’d be forgiven for thinking that 76-year-old Janet has all but given up when it comes to love, especially as she’s filed for divorce four times.

But the journalist has been dating long-term partner and restaurateur Peter Spanton, 65, since 1999 and has kept their relationship entirely out of the limelight.

Rewind a few years though, and marriage appeared to be entirely on Janet’s mind as she walked down the aisle to a string of men, including Tim Street-Porter from 1967 to 1975, Tony Elliot during the years of 1975 to 1977, Frank Cvitanovich throughout 1979 to 1981, and lastly David Sorkin from 1997 to 1999.

Romance, sadly, fizzled out for each marriage, with Janet admitted during her first one to having several affairs in her autobiography. Then, for her second, third and fourth nuptials, she dubbed them as “mistakes”.

She once revealed: “I once married a man I had known for just two months – but I was having a midlife crisis.”

However, while Janet has been very open about her marriage regrets, she has previously told Loose Women viewers she still has all of her wedding and engagement rings.

Jane Moore

It goes without saying that separating after years of marriage can take time, and Jane knows exactly that.

The 61-year-old publicly announced her split from husband of almost-20-years Gary Farrow in December last year, but admitted that it was a long time coming as they’d actually delayed it for a year.

The TV presenter explained it was for health reasons and that she felt she should care for her husband – who she shares daughters Ellie and Grace with – after he suffered a painful injury.

“We had discussed it last year and it was going to happen last year, and then he fell and broke his leg,” Jane said. “And obviously, then all bets are off.”

Their relationship, however, ended amicably, as she went on to describe him as her “best friend”.
