I'm A Celebrity… could stay in UK for two years to remain Covid safe

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here looks like it’s not going anywhere for the foreseeable – and could remain in the UK for the next two years.

The jungle favourite has relocated for the 2020 series to Gwrych Castle in Wales this year, after the pandemic halted the team’s ability to go overseas.

But the team could be getting comfy there – as until things start improving, it’s unlikely they’ll head back to the Gold Coast.

‘There is a very real chance that the show will be in the UK again next year, so they are trying to get their ducks in a row and have a plan B like this time around,’ a source told The Sun.

‘They have informally spoken to the owners of the castle and asked about its availability over the next two years — so into 2022.’

The insider added they hoped that they hope the show will be such a hit in Wales that fans won’t want them to return to Aus so quickly.

Hosts Ant and Dec are currently in the rural town filming promotional material for the upcoming series, even though the past few days saw their plans get rained off.

Making the most of it, the duo have been creating TikToks in their downtime, literally singin’ in the rain while they waited to shoot.

They even found, seemingly, the world’s most exciting pen, which is actually funnier than it sounds.

We dare you not to smile at that one.

But it’s always safety first for the pair – with Ant and Dec filming their Covid tests in order to keep filming together.

The Geordie duo, who have been in a social bubble together for months, left fans squirming with the invasive test, where a large swab goes up their nose.

While Ant managed to handle it like a pro, Dec was far more squirmish, and even looked a little sick as he did it.

I’m A Celebrity returns later this year on ITV.
