Hollyoaks star Eva O'Hara has opened up about Verity Hutchinson's future in the village after her huge baby lie was exposed earlier this week.
The feisty businesswomen pretended to be pregnant with her and boyfriend Sami Maalik's (Rishi Nair) first child to cover up for Diane Hutchinson's (Alex Flectcher) own baby news.
Sami was left reeling after his step-cousin Shaq (Omar Malik) revealed that Verity was lying about their unborn child.
In heartbreaking scenes, he told his girlfriend "there is no future’" for them in the wake of her baby lie.
Opening up about what's next for Verity, Eva told Daily Star: "It's going to be hard for Verity to continue on with the strength that she had before.
"Sami became her everything really so I'm excited for the audience to see the development of Verity and if there's any hope for the two of them in the future.
"There's a sort of mix that goes on. You get a bit more of the icy, frosty Verity coming through in the next few weeks."
The soap star went on to share why Verity thought she was going to get away with the ridiculous lie in the first place.
""t's so bizarre what the heart does. Verity is very deeply in love with Sami and I think it was only a mater of time before she had to let Sami know," Eva explained.
"There could have been an amicable understanding between the two of them but Verity seeing Sami's excitement and his inclusion of her in his future plans really bowled her over.
"I think she ran away with the idea of having this small little family."
Verity is the daughter of the master of manipulation, evil Dr Edward Hutchinson, so Eva went to suggest that her father's behaviour does have an influence on her.
She said: "She was really repelled by her father by the end but no one can deny that your upbringing has such a huge effect on us all the way through our lives.
"So, of course, she's going to hold on to some of that sort of manipulative energy that Edward had."
Verity was recently offered her dream job in New York, leaving Hollyoaks fans concerned that the character would leave the village in a bid to get over her break-up.
Eva opened up about the possibility of Verity fleeing to work across the pond.

She teased: "I can't reveal that much so I'm going to keep the audience guessing but I love seeing the fan theories.
"New York is a pretty inviting offer, and its also been her dream to follow her career, but there is real tie to Sami so it will be interesting to find out what choice she makes.."
