Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were always intending to release a revealing documentary on their lives, according to a former press secretary to King Charles. Kristina Kyriacou discussed the Netflix series Harry & Meghan with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning. The former aide revealed her hopes the new series signals an end to the disputes in the Royal Family.
Kristina was a guest on the iconic ITV sofa on a momentous day for the Royal Family as the hotly anticipated Netflix documentary landed on the streaming platform.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex has described the six-part series as “their truth”, which was delved into by King Charles’ former aide.
She said: “I believe that Harry and Meghan will still have a relationship with their family. They have young children themselves and this is a process that they need to go through.
“Indeed, what you do see from these documentaries is they were filming video diaries from before they actually left the UK for this documentary.”

Kristina continued: “So, this is something they had in mind for a long time. This is clearly part of their personal journey to mend.”
Reflecting on the decision to go ahead with the show, she added: “Maybe it’s just better suited for them to be out there.”
She continued: “The question I ask is ‘will this now end?’ Will this telling of their story of woe now end?
“Because they’ve already done Oprah [Winfrey] there’s been chosen biographers releasing books, there’s another book coming out in January. There’s this enormous £88 million series.”
The royal expert asked Phil and Holly: “Will they move on from this and devote their lives to good? Which is why they moved there [USA].”
Harry & Meghan has courted controversy ever since the announcement of a tell-all documentary was made.
The trailers for the first three episodes only added to the speculation and intrigue into what they may reveal.
In the second teaser, Harry declared Buckingham Palace as playing “a dirty game” with the press.
The Duke also accused some members of the royal institution of “planting stories” on him and his wife.
In the episodes, the main plot line appears to show a softer side of the couple and looks into the early days of their relationship.
Meghan recalls the time Prince Harry arrived late and the pair joked about how rushed and flustered he appeared when he arrived for dinner.
The couple left the UK for Los Angeles in 2020 and Lorraine Kelly believes Harry’s plan was always to leave the Royal Family in some way.
Speaking on her ITV show Lorraine, she discussed the new show with royal expert Russell Myers.
She remarked: “We have said this before, I think he always wanted out.
“I think he was desperately unhappy in that situation, you can actually see it in pictures of him as a wee boy.”
“He looks very bewildered and William actually looks quite comfortable and he doesn’t. I always think he just wanted out.”
