GOOD Morning Britain's Kate Garraway was unrecognisable in a montage of her career highlights after her Tric Awards win last night.

The broadcaster, 54, was honoured with a Special Award at the star-studded event which was packed full of her peers.

She said to co-hosts Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid today: "All of you are sneaky liars. You knew but you didn't tell me and it was right at the end of the afternoon when I'd completely unravelled. My false eyelashes were coming off. I was quite good on the drink, but I'd just generally unravelled."

Holding up the gong, she continued: "This is very lovely, thank you very much. A special recognition award. Just for surviving so long, it felt like a retirement award."

It was at that point the montage played featuring all of Kate's greatest hits.

One particular moment from the early 90s required a double take as a younger Kate said: "Good afternoon the lunchtime news for Central."

Her voice was much deeper and with a posh tone, while her look was very much of its time with chunky earrings, a pastel suit and big hair.

There were clips from her time on GMTV, Daybreak and Smooth Radio as well as trips abroad where she rode camels and highlighted humanitarian issues.

Kate's Tric win followed on from her Authored Documentary prize at last week's NTAs for Finding Derek.

The documentary gave an insight intoKate's family life as she dealt with her husband Derek's devastating coronavirus diagnosis last year and the subsequent complications.
