Emmerdale Paddy death fears as he goes missing with gun after emotional goodbye
21st February 2023

Emmerdale favourite Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) hits rock bottom next week as he finally returns home

Everyone is stunned when a dishevelled Paddy is standing in the doorway with a holdall in upcoming scenes after going missing weeks ago.

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) simmers but makes a beeline for him and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is irritated by Paddy's behaviour.

When Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) enters with little Eve, it’s an emotional reunion for all and Chas softens when she realises the hurt and sadness in Paddy’s eyes.

Paddy plays up his happiness to get Marlon off his back but when Marlon leaves, Paddy’s facade crumbles as he’s left utterly bereft and broken.

As Paddy goes about his day seemingly making amends with family and friends. Unbeknownst to them all Paddy is saying his veiled goodbyes and leaves his dad Bear a letter.

Later with Paddy having gone, Bear makes the horrifying discovery of the letter.

Helpless Marlon is distressed as everyone scrambles to go and find Paddy.

When Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) delivers the appalling news about the missing bolt gun from the Vet surgery, the reality of what he is doing is all too worrying as they hope they can find him in time.

Speaking about his latest work, Paddy actor Dominic Brunt said it was a "huge honour and great responsibility" to be portraying the storyline.

"It’s an inherent problem in today’s society that most men don’t talk enough about their problems," said Dominic.

"We bottle them up, we don’t want to bother anyone, we become embarrassed, we feel we should be strong and not show weakness. If this story can shine a light on the issue or make even a small change to someone’s outlook or viewpoint, then it will have been worth it.

"It’s also a privilege to be working alongside The Samaritans and Andy’s Man Club in highlighting this issue."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
