Emmerdale: Rhona blames herself for Lucy’s death
Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) are not on the same page at present on Emmerdale.
Rhona is desperate to be part of baby Ivy’s life, as she feels the child is part of her as she was made using her embryos.
However, Marlon does not appear to agree and believes Ivy’s father Gus – who happens to be Rhona’s ex-husband – should raise the little one.
Mark recently opened up to Express.co.uk and other media about the storyline which takes a new turn at Christmas as Gus and Ivy move in with him and Rhona.
Mark shared: “It’s a great story for continuing drama because people switch allegiances all the way through.

“Obviously from Rhona’s point of view, she has a biological connection which she cannot deny.
“Marlon has finally got into a place where after all this searching he has got this perfect family unit.
“Then this thing happens and I think he is going to find it really hard to resolve himself to her obsession.”

Hinting at a possible break-up for the couple, he added: “The cracks on the ice are going to form and go into all different sorts of directions – the possibilities for this story are endless.
“I think it is going to be one of those stories that people take positions on it morally – I am talking about the audience now.”
He said Rhona cannot seem to admit how strong her connection is to Ivy as it threatens their current stability as a couple.
He shared: “So, for her, I think she knows he will go, ‘It’s not your baby’ and she will go, ‘Well it is my baby.'”
Rhona and Marlon have been through an awful lot together, with Rhona being by his side when he suffered a debilitating stroke last year.
Mark added: “They have both been through much, each individual, you think this would make them stronger?
“But something like this is so heavy and so divisive and almost impossible to imagine the connotations of it, there could be any outcome of this story. He wants the best for her but he is scared.”
Will they end up divorcing, or will they find a way to make it work with Ivy and Gus?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
