Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was hit with a heartbreaking blow from husband-to-be Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in recent Coronation Street scenes which left huge questions over the future of their relationship.
Paul has been struggling recently as his condition has been deteriorating more rapidly than he had anticipated following his MND diagnosis.
However, he wasn’t going to let this dull his spirit as he prepared to celebrate Pride with his family.
Unfortunately, his plans were put on hold when Billy revealed that the occupational therapist had had a cancellation, and was on the way over to see them.
As the appointment got underway, Paul grew increasingly agitated as Billy continually spoke over him, not giving him the opportunity to share his opinions.
By the time the occupational therapist had left, the pair were embroiled in a full blown row.
Later, worried Billy went out looking for Paul, who had completely disappeared following their disagreement.
Eventually, they found a post from his social media showing that he had been to Pride, before seeing him being taken into the Rovers by a number of drag queens.
However, Paul later revealed that this was not the jolly trip it seemed, as he confessed that he had had another fall at Pride, and had been unable to get up by himself.
Following the incident, the drag queens had wanted to get him safely home and accompanied him in the taxi.
As the day drew to a close, Billy also had a confession to make, as he sat down to chat with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
He revealed that he had been afraid history would repeat itself, and that Paul would have ended up cheating on him while he was AWOL.
He admitted that he didn’t know how much more of the rowing and distrust he could take, and confessed that if Paul wasn’t ill, he probably wouldn’t still be with him after what he’d done.
It then instantly became clear that Paul had heard him, as he stepped out of the shadows, to Billy’s horror.
Though Billy tried to explain, Paul told him not to bother, and that he shouldn’t hang around for his sake.
Is this the end of Billy and Paul’s relationship?
