DANI Dyer has revealed that she will be eating her placenta as she shared a snap of her newborn son in a £300 designer babygro.

The 24-year-old star and boyfriend Sammy Kimmence welcomed their first baby on 23 January.

The former Love Island champ has been keeping her followers updated as she adapts to life as a new mum, and revealed her hope that consuming her placenta will "do amazing things".

Taking to her Instagram Story yesterday, the star shared a photo of several products that her placenta had been turned into after she sent it off to an Essex company.

Dani captioned the post: "Thank you so much @PlacentaEssex_UK for my package!

"I always wanted my placenta made into capsules as I've heard amazing things but I didn't actually know if it was common but it is! So happy!"

What is the placenta?

The placenta is an organ attached to a woman’s womb lining during pregnancy.

The umbilical cord attaches the baby, who is growing inside a bag of fluid called the amniotic sac, to his or her mum.

Nutrients and oxygen are passed from the mum to her baby via the blood supply and into the placenta – which also produces hormones to help the baby develop, and protect the foetus from bacterial infections.

After the woman gives birth, the placenta becomes a messy waste product – passed out of her body, and often discarded.

She'd received two different types of capsules as well as a Baby and Mumma balm, face cream, and placenta oil.

New mums may choose to eat their placenta as they believe that the nutrients passed from mother to foetus during her nine months of pregnancy are still packed inside the organ – and shouldn't be binned.

Eating the raw placenta could help the mum recover from giving birth and boost her strength while breastfeeding, according to the theory.

Some are convinced the pills prevent post-natal depression, encourage breast milk production, and provide a much-needed energy boosts for new mums.

Other celebs to eat their placenta after giving birth include Amy Childs, Coleen Rooney, and Khloe Kardashian.

Taking to her main Instagram grid, Dani also shared an adorable snap of her little boy – whose name is currently unknown.

The little one looks snug in a blue Fendi babygro, which retails at £290, with Dani captioning the snap: "Oh my baby boy how did we get so lucky".

Dani announced that she had given birth earlier this week with a sweet photo of herself kissing her son in her hospital bed.

She wrote at the time: "After a very long day and night finally our special little boy arrived 23/01/2021? Weighing 7 pound..

"We are in a complete baby bubble and enjoying every moment, can not believe he is ours, completely in love and so grateful to be his mummy..

"Sending all my love to all the other mommas to be out there in lockdown.. the best experience ever will never forget this day✨"

Her EastEnders actor dad Danny was quick to share his own excitement on social media, sharing the same photo as he gushed: "So my baby had a baby. F**k me we needed some joy this year.

"So proud of you @danidyerxx cannot wait to meet the little beaut. ❤️❤️"
