Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has shared a hilarious on-screen blunder with her co-star Rebecca Ryan.

The actress, 38, who plays Sarah Barlow on the cobbles, appeared on Friday's This Morning to talk all things about the ITV soap.

During the chat with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, Tina spoke about her current storyline where Sarah's on-screen husband Adam Barlow has been targeted by his ex Lydia Chambers, played by actress Rebecca.

She said: "Rebecca, who plays Lydia, has been a joy to work with and she plays it so convincingly that you do completely believe what she's telling you."

Tina hilariously added: "She'll probably be quite cross because there's a scene we had to do where I had to throw a leek at her and I was meant to miss but my aim was so bad I hit her.

"But we had so much fun and we had a writer named Jonathan Harvey who writes some incredible lines, so we had some really, really great stuff to do."

It comes after the ITV soap released explosive spoiler photos last weekend showing the moment Adam is left for dead after a deadly showdown with ex Lydia.

Only recently, Lydia, who has been making Adam's life hell and scheming for weeks to get revenge, pretended that she was having an affair with the solicitor to his wife Sarah.

Lydia, who has been creating fake evidence and clues to support her lie, has been successful in destroying his marriage and in upcoming scenes she wants Adam to admit what he did.

Soap watchers will recall that the duo previously dated at university for six months — a relationship Adam had forgot, leaving Lydia even more furious as she threatened: "I’m going to dismantle your life like you dismantled mine."

In an upcoming showdown between the exes, Lydia confronts Adam about their past again as he refuses to acknowledge any of the hurt he caused.

This results in Lydia losing her temper as she lashes out and shoves him, which leads to Adam falling off a balcony while being left bloodied and unconscious on the floor.

Coronation Street continues on weekdays on ITV.
