Simon Cowell gunged by Mr Blobby on Britain’s Got Talent

During the latest instalment of Britain’s Got Talent, judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were introduced to a Mr Blobby act.

The dotted pink and yellow character first hit screens in the earlier 1990s in a show called Noel’s House Party with Noel Edmonds.

He hasn’t been seen on television for some time, but he was as rebellious as ever during his Britain’s Got Talent audition.

Most of the judges were thrilled to see him cause destruction, but Simon was evidently not a fan of the childish act.

However, Mr Blobby convinced Simon to join him on stage to be part of a magic trick.

Simon reluctantly agreed and sat inside a box, however, once the box was reopened he was covered in pink slime.

The judges erupted into laughter and fans were left wondering who was inside the costume.

Many took to Twitter with their theories, with Jules suggesting: “Is Mr Blobby David Walliams in disguise? #bgt #bgt2023 #BritainsGotTalent.”

Jodie Cheetham added: “I bet mr blobby on @BGT is @davidwalliams#BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

Phil commented: “Mr Blobby was definitely David Walliams #BGT2023 #BritainsGotTalent.”

Nikki shared: “After the worst few weeks of my life seeing Mr Blobby on #BritainsGotTalent #BGT has cheered me right up and made me feel like a kid again watching telly on a Saturday night with my grandparents. Loved it!”

@YouOKHunz added: “This is the most chaotic and hilarious thing I have EVER seen. It’s amazing! And if that was the person who bought the outfit off eBay for £60,000 It was worth every Penny! #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

Simon had to go behind the scenes to get cleared up after being gunged on stage.

Mr Blobby wasn’t put through to the next round as he was given four red buzzers by the judges.

Britain’s Got Talent continues next Saturday at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
