BBC Antiques Roadshow viewers distracted by Floella Benjamin’s ageless beauty

    Antiques Roadshow fans were completely gobsmacked when Floella Benjamin appeared on the show, with many claiming that she "hasn't aged".

    Fiona Bruce hosted a special episode of the beloved TV show on Sunday, October 23 to commemorate the BBC turning 100.

    Hosting the show from Alexandra Palace, Fiona and the experts met with a whole host of hopeful members of the public who brought antiques along to get valued.

    In between the valuations, Fiona gave viewers at home an oral history of the BBC while showing off items from the channel over the years.

    Floella, who is now a baroness, appeared on the show in a segment about the iconic kid's TV show Play School, which is how she found fame.

    Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to note how ageless Floella appears, with one penning: "Floella Benjamin has barely aged a day since the days of Playschool! #antiquesroadshow."

    Another echoed: "Floella Benjamin has aged incredibly well and is still just as smiley as I remember her from childhood. #antiquesroadshow."

    A third posted an emoji of a shocked face and penned: "Floella Benjamin is 73," to which someone replied: "But how????? She’s absolutely timeless, absolutely love her."

    Appearing on Antiques Roadshow, Floella spoke about the puppets and characters that appeared on the show she appeared on – Play School.

    Speaking about her stint on the programme, she said how it "had children at the very heart" before adding how she gave the children watching her heart and her soul.

    Floella rose to national fame after presenting the beloved British children's TV show which aired on the BBC and ran from April 1964 until March 1988.

    Each episode had a theme and taught children about a whole host of different topics.

    With songs, stories and activities, Floella hosted the beloved show for a number of years during the 1970s and 1980s.
