The Baggs family have quit Gogglebox after appearing on the show for three series.
Dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George joined the show in 2020.
They were scouted for the programme after Joe and George went viral on TikTok.
Fans were shocked to hear of the Essex family’s surprise departure from Gogglebox earlier this week.
In a statement, the family said: “After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show.
“We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.”
The final episode of series 18 has now ended, so the Baggs family won't be appearing on Gogglebox screens again.
Here’s everything we know about why they quit the show.
Why have the Baggs family quit Gogglebox?
The Baggs family said that they made the decision to leave the show because they are too busy with other work commitments.
In their statement, they explained: “With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity.
“Thank you for all your support whilst we have been on the show. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!”
But a TikTok posted by George Baggs revealed that there might be a more controversial reason for the family's departure.
The video featured text saying “dance if the most hated family on gogglebox finally left” while brothers George and Joe danced together.
It was also captioned: “It was an absolute pleasure to be part of an amazing team, you're always gonna get hate but onwards to bigger and better things.”
Are the Baggs family the most hated family on Gogglebox?
Despite George’s claims that the family were hated by viewers, fans were quick to show their support for the family.
In response to the video, one fan commented: “I don’t get what people hate about you I’d watch a tv show just with you guys in it.”
While another wrote: “Most hated are they avin a laugh most funniest family on there..oh well their loss xx.”
But it’s true that the family did receive a lot of hate during their time on the show with viewers branding them “annoying” and “fake”.
And not everyone was upset to hear the news that they were leaving the show.
One commenter on the video said: "Thank god they wound me up so much just not funny at all."
