Still debating on which side of the Force is cooler? Here are some quotes from the prequel trilogy, the sequel trilogy, and the original Star Wars movies that’ll have you pulled towards the Dark Side.
Darth Maul’s short lines from ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’
Out of all the Sith characters fans met over the years, Darth Maul is definitely one of the coolest looking. He has horns, a double-sided red lightsaber, and even contact with the Sith Lord himself, Emperor Palpatine.
Unfortunately, according to inafarawaygalaxy.com, Darth Maul gets a whopping two lines in The Phantom Menace, totaling 31 words. While talking to his master, viewers catch a glimpse of Darth Maul’s personality. He’s ready to find and kill some Jedis.
“At least we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At least we will have our revenge,” Darth Maul said. His time in The Phantom Menace is pretty short lived, though. Obi Wan Kenobi kills the Sith after Maul kills Qui-Gon Jinn.
Darth Vader’s ‘I am your father’ from ‘The Empire Strikes Back’
After being thrown into the world of the Sith and the Jedi, Luke Skywalker knows one thing for certain: he will never join the Dark Side because Darth Vader killed his father. Darth Vader was quick to correct Luke Skywalker’s mistake, leading to one of the most iconic lines in cinematic history.
“No, I am your father.”
That’s impossible, Luke says — it was just just as much of a shock to fans in the movie theaters as it was to the character. It’s true, though, as fans eventually learned about Anakin Skywalker’s romance from the prequel trilogy.
Kylo Ren telling Rey to ‘let go’ in ‘The Last Jedi’
In the sequel trilogy, the leader of the First Order was being torn apart. On one hand, he wanted the power that came with the Dark Side. On the other hand, he felt guilty about killing his father. By killing Supreme Leader Snoke, Kylo Ren had a new future planned for him and the young Jedi, Rey.
“It’s time to let old things die. Snoke, Skywalker, the Sith, the Jedi, the rebels. Rey, I want you to join me. We can rule together and bring a new order to the galaxy,” Kylo Ren asks, holding out his hand. Rey isn’t too enthusiastic about it, though.
“No, no. You’re still holding on! Let go,” he shouts. Eventually, the two force wielders team up to defeat Palpatine, but it’s not without a few anger-filled moments from Kylo Ren.
