SNOOKER player Kyren Wilson has hit the headlines with his performances at the World Snooker Championships 2023.
The world number seven ranked player managed to rack a perfect 147 in his match against Ryan Day in the World Championships at The Crucible Theatre.
Who is Kyren Wilson?
Kyren Wilson was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, on December 23, 1991.
As a youngster, he attended an academy run by former world champion Peter Ebdon.
As he developed as he snooker player he competed in junior tournaments, with his mum driving on the day of matches as they couldn't afford overnight stays in hotels.
In an interview with Betway, Kyren said of his parents Rob and Sonya Wilson: "They’ve re-mortgaged the house a few times to support my career.

Kyren played his first UK and World Championship in the 2010/11 season after turning professional, but failed to break through to the ranking events.
Playing again as an amateur, he made it back to the professional circuitin the 2013/14 season.
In 2020, he reached his highest world ranking of fourth.

How many majors has Kyren Wilson won?
At the World Snooker Championships 2023, Kyren – who is nicknamed The Warrior – became just the ninth player to make a 147 break at The Crucible.
Wilson, who was defeated by Ronnie O’Sullivan in the 2020 final, will receive a £55,000 bonus – £40,000 for the maximum and £10,000 for the highest-break of the 17-day tournament.

Is Kyren Wilson married?
Kyren tied the knot with Sophie Lauren on June 5, 2016.
The pair had been dating since 2009 prior to their marriage.
He often mentions his wife on his Instagram posts.
He paid tribute to her in a birthday message on September 27, 2022, posting: "Happy 30th birthday to my beautiful wife!
"Without your backing day in day out I’d have no chance, welcome to the dirty thirty’s club."

Kyren has two children, Finley and Bailey
Bailey was born on September 9, 2017.
