Robert Lewandowski transfer odds: Barcelona runaway leaders but Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool all in the hunt
12th April 2022

BARCELONA have emerged as strong favourites to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer.

Sky Bet price the odds at 1/1 for the star striker to swap Munich for Barcelona, with a host of Premier League giants in the chasing pack.

The Poland international is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and by some even as one of the best of all time.

The 33-year-old has scored 340 goals in 369 games for Bayern Munich since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, including 46 goals in 40 games this season.

But with his contract expiring in 2023, Lewandowski seems set for one final big move this summer, with Spanish giants Barcelona the front runners.

PSG are deemed to be in second place followed by both Manchester clubs, as well as Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal.

The Poland captain won the European Golden Shoe last season, having scored 48 goals in all competitions, and has won the last two editions of The Best FIFA Men's Player award.

He recently came second behind PSG's Lionel Messi in the 2021 Ballon d'Or, and has been named in FIFPro's World XI for the last two years.

Sky Bet odds

  • Barcelona 1/1
  • PSG 9/1
  • Manchester City 14/1
  • Manchester United 14/1
  • Chelsea 20/1
  • Liverpool 20/1
  • Newcastle 20/1
  • Arsenal 22/1

Barcelona are in the midst of a transitional phase, having not won La Liga since 2019 and having to deal with major financial issues that resulted in Messi's departure from the club.

But since club legend Xavi has taken over as manager, the club have been on an upward trajectory both and off the pitch.

The Spanish giants appear to be able to compete financially again, having signed the likes of Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore in January.

There are also a number of Premier League giants who are currently in need of a striker who are thought to be keen on Lewandowski's signature.

The two Manchester clubs have the shortest odds, with City having only Gabriel Jesus as a recognised striker after missing out on signing Harry Kane from Tottenham in the summer.

Manchester United have Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, whose future remains unclear and Edinson Cavani, 35, whose contract expires in June.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal are also all in the market for a striker, and are in the hunt for the Polish goal machine.
