Manchester United are looking to sign Sofyan Amrabat on loan after failing to raise funds for a permanent deal.
Amrabat is eager to join the Red Devils and reunite with Erik ten Hag, who managed the midfielder at Utrecht.
However, with United's late transfer window strategy hindered by Harry Maguire's collapsed £30million move to West Ham they have been unable to make an offer due to financial fair play restrictions.

Greenwood saga continues
Manchester United have just days to find a new club for Mason Greenwood or face losing millions.
The 21-year-old must be sold or loaned out by Friday before the transfer window closes at 11pm.
If United miss the cut-off, they face paying the £75,000-a-week striker around £8 million to cut his contract.
Greenwood "mutually agreed" to leave United on August 21 following his arrest for attempted rape and sexual assault.
He was charged in October but all charges were dropped in February by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Harry Maguire has been told he WON’T leave Manchester United this summer.
The out-of-favour defender was on the verge of moving to West Ham earlier this month but the deal fell through.

Man Utd have been handed a huge blow as Raphael Varane is reportedly set to be out for over a month.
The French defender is feared to have picked up an injury during the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Man Utd are so desperate for a short-term loan deal to cover the injury of Luke Shaw they have reportedly added a FIFTH and SIXTH option to their transfer shortlist.
According to the Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag is said to be looking to bring in a short-term replacement for Shaw's absence and a reunion with Lyon's Nicolas Tagliafico is on the cards.

Brandon Williams' horror start to his career at Ipswich Town has continued into the Carabao Cup.
The on-loan Manchester United defender made a key error on his debut as the Tractor Boys lost to Leeds.
Williams, 22, was out-paced by Luis Sinisterra as the winger was able to get away from him and score the Yorkshire side's fourth of the match.
And he followed up that error with another big mistake as Ipswich took on Reading in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Williams put through his own goal just two minutes after kick-off after a cross bounced off him.
And fans could not help but make a joke at the defender's expense on social media.
Many of them had a laugh that Williams had gone "undercover" as he used to play for local rivals Norwich City.
