United chief Ed Woodward finally axed the ex-Chelsea chief after a torrid start to the season earlier this week.
He was fired in a face-to-face meeting at the Red Devils’ Carrington training complex in the morning.
And just moments after he was fired members of the kit room staff had been sent into his office to clear it out.
His personal belongings, including pictures on the wall and trophies, were put into boxes before being transported away.
An Old Trafford source said: “The club were ruthless in the end. Just minutes after being sacked they were in there.
“It took just 15 minutes to consign Jose to history. They dumped all his stuff into a white transit van.
“He spoke briefly to some of the support staff but spent most of his time in office on the day.”
Meanwhile, we revealed how Mourinho refused to eat Christmas dinner with United’s staff in one final snub before his sacking.
It is understood he did not sit down for a traditional annual festive meal last Friday.
It came just days before he took his former side to Anfield for a 3-1 hammering by bitter rivals Liverpool.
An Old Trafford source said: “It’s a United tradition that everyone sits down for lunch at Carrington.
“Jose didn’t even bother turning up to the canteen. As soon as training was finished he went back to his office.
“He then got his driver to collect him. It didn’t go down with the rank and file if truth be told.
“Everyone was sat down. It felt like a snub to everyone and their hard work throughout the year.”
