ENGLISH wonderkid Jamie Bynoe-Gittens came off the bench to scorehis first Bundesliga goal for Borussia Dortmund on Friday.

The 18-year-old winger, who has been dubbed the next Jadon Sancho, was introduced in the 64th minute of the match against SC Freiburg to replace Thorgan Hazard.

And just 13 minutes later, he cancelled out Michael Gregoritsch's first half opener with a long-range strike which was then spilled into the goal by Freiburg keeper Mark Flekken.

The young star then instigated the move which led to the second goal by driving into the penalty area and setting the ball to Julian Brandt, who tapped it on for 17-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko to make the finish.

Marius Wolf then sealed the 3-1 win with a fantastic strike into the bottom left corner.

Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic had plenty of praise for Bynoe-Gittens after the game and even hailed him a 'game-changer'.

He said: "Jamie is someone who can get in there and open things up with his first touch.

"Most importantly, he can quicken up the pace of the game. That's what we had in mind. He livened up the game very well and was involved in a lot of good offensive actions.

"With him, it's basically quite simple: he has the ability to decide games.

"He's a game-changer – and that's precisely what I wanted to see from him. He doesn't simply play the game. He makes the difference. That's what he accomplished."

The occasion marked the England U19 international's 5th Bundesliga appearance.

Bynoe-Gittens joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 after spending two years at Manchester City's academy.

He was limited to just two appearances during his first season in Germany after sustaining a severe ankle injury.

But, once fully recovered he quickly bounced back to make a huge impact in the UEFA Youth League and the U19's Bundesliga.

One of his most notable performances last season came against Manchester United U19's when he scored twice in a 2-2 draw that ended with a penalty shootout – of which Dortmund won.
