Derek Jeter Is Selling His Mansion, That Tom Brady Is Renting, For $29 Million
21st October 2020

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will have to find a new residence.

The six-time Super Bowl champion is renting the Tampa Bay mansion owned by former New York Yankees All-Star and current Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter, but the luxurious home is now on the open market.

Jeter is asking for a hefty price tag of $29 million. Per the online listing, this 21,796 square-foot home consists of seven bedrooms and 16 total bathrooms. The home sits on the Davis Island waterfront.

The home also comes with six garage spaces, a private pool and a spa. There are 15 interior rooms in the mansion that’s referred to as “St. Jetersburg.”

After spending 20 seasons in the freezing New England weather, Brady has quickly embraced the Florida lifestyle and warmer climate. But if this mansion sells fast (no guarantees), Brady will have to pack up his belongings and find a new home once again.

The Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers, another team based in a warm climate, were considered the front-runners for Brady in free agency. The Chicago Bears were also a potential fit, but Brady was reportedly against the idea of playing in cold weather again.

He wound up signing a two-year, $50 million contract, with every single penny of it guaranteed.

Brady and the Buccaneers opened up their 2020 season with a road tilt against the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints. However, the three-time MVP struggled mightily – throwing two interceptions (including a pick-six) in a 34-23 defeat.

Brady was visibly frustrated throughout the game, and head coach Bruce Arians publicly criticized the 43-year-old on his interceptions. Of course, it’s only Week 1, and the Buccaneers can only get better on the offensive side of the ball from here.

The Buccaneers will look to get back track on Sunday when they host the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.
