And Silvestre told BettingExpert: "I think the fact that the spotlight is not on Kai Havertz anymore, I think he had time to digest the move and play with his new teammates. Coming from the bench, you have less pressure, you can read the game from the bench and be impactful.”

Mikael Silvestre has praised the form of Arsenal full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu but says going forward Oleksandr Zinchenko is the superior option.

He told Betting Expert: "Tomiyasu is a very good alternative to Zinchenko because you know what you’re going to get with Zinchenko. He’s a steady defender who does the basics simply and well.

    Odegaard concern

Mikel Arteta admits he's concerned by the amount of minutes Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has already played this season.

The Spaniard said: "We looked at the all the minutes everyone has played over the last few weeks and some of them have played an enormous amount of minutes.

"Martin has as well been carrying a little thing that wasn't very comfortable in the games.

"We have players with enormous quality and we have to trust them, and we believe it was the right day to do so."

He added: "I think he has endured a lot. The last couple of weeks have been really good for the team.

"He’s playing every game, as you said, and he had a difficult period with the national team.

"It was a big blow for them with what happened – but this is football. He needs to get on with that. He’s a massive player for us."

    Arteta's 'impossible' situation

Mikel Arteta has a big problem on his hands as Aaron Ramsdale will find it "impossible" to mentally play second fiddle to David Raya, according to Rio Ferdinand.

Speaking on his Vibe with Five podcast, he said: "Every goalkeeper that plays in the league around the world, at every level, is 100 per cent certain they are No.1.

"So to change that and flip it on his head and expect a goalkeeper to be okay with that.

"I just find it really impossible.

"I think it’s impossible to expect a goalkeeper that has been conditioned for their whole life one way to then flip."

"They bought [Micky] Van de Ven who I find exceptional. I find him absolutely exceptional.

"They had weaknesses there [in defence] and last year [Hugo] Lloris didn’t have the best of seasons as well.

"And overall, the movement from Son [Heung-min] into the middle, looks very good."
