UNAI EMERY's Arsenal are looking to take the positives from their 3-1 defeat at Liverpool as they build up to this weekend's North London derby against Tottenham.

The Gunners have made a promising start to this season with wins over Newcastle and Burnley but were overwhelmed by Mo Salah and Co on Merseyside as the Reds cruised to a 3-1 victory.

Stick around for the latest news and gossip from the Emirates…

  • REISS NELSON has his sights set on reaching the top.

  • MARTIN ATKINSON has been appointed as the official for the north London derby this weekend…and it's bad news for Arsenal.

The 48-year-old has taken charge of four north London derbies, which have produced a combined 19 goals, but is yet to yield a single win for the Gunners.

His last derby in 2016 ended in a 1-1 draw but he also oversaw the historic 4-4 draw in 2008 and the 3-3 draw three years later.

The other game he officiated between the Premier League giants saw Spurs battle to a 2-1 win in February 2015.

  • DAVID LUIZ has been slated by former Wimbledon and Millwall defender Kenny Cunningham.

He told OTB AM: “I was very surprised that Emery made that jump and brought him there.

“In terms of what Arsenal need in the centre of that defence, they need someone who knows how to defend basically.

“They need someone who enjoys defending and David Luiz has never struck me as someone who enjoys defending.”

  • NACHO MONREAL is reportedly “close” to leaving Arsenal after six years.

He is the final year of his Emirates contract and knows he will not be offered a new deal.

Monreal has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish club Real Sociedad.

The Metro claim the 33-year-old is closing in on his move to the La Liga club.

  • REISS NELSON is confident he can become a regular in the first-team this season.

According to the Metro, he said: “All the competition that's here, all the new wingers Arsenal have signed… I think this could be my time.

“I need to just keep training hard and getting all the information from the coaches and the players.

“If I do that, I'm going to have a big, big shout this season.”
