  • HECTOR BELLERIN has praised Gabriel Martinelli after he netted his fifth goal of the season.

The Spanish right-back said: ” It's really important for his confidence and for the team to keep pushing.

“I've always said that it's not just about his goals, it's about his fight, the spirit he brings to the team.

“He's very young and has a lot to learn. Everything that he's doing is positive because he's helping the team and helping himself.

“Of course everyone is happy for him to keep scoring.”

  • ARSENAL host Crystal Palace on Sunday aiming to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United with Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney set to make their first Premier League starts of the season.

The Gunners will be desperately hoping they can carry their momentum from the last-gasp win over Vitoria Guimaraes against the Eagles.

And having made their comebacks in cup competition in recent weeks, Bellerin and Tierney could now make their first Prem starts of 2019-20 on Sunday.

The full-back tandem have been nursing injuries all season, but both played the full 90 minutes of the 3-2 win in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Calum Chambers and Sead Kolasinac had occupied the flanks in the Bramall Lane horror show.

But £25million summer buy Tierney and fan-favourite Bellerin are almost certain to return to put a smile on Gooners' faces.

  • JOSE MOURINHO took his place in Arsenal's executive box to watch under-pressure Unai Emery scrape a last-gasp win over Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday night.

The Special One was pictured taking in the dramatic 3-2 Europa League win in North London.

Mourinho was thought to be a guest of head of football Raul Sanllehi, although that is currently unconfirmed.

Regardless, the snap sparking an excited reaction from Gooners after it went viral on social media.

Current boss Emery is under increasing pressure at the club with the Spaniard appearing more and more flustered.

The former Paris Saint-Germain chief snapped earlier this week, slamming Arsene Wenger's reign in North London when quizzed over his side's patchy form.

  • NICOLAS PEPE insists he is still way short being at his best while also claiming he will speak with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over who takes free-kicks this season.

The £72million winger came off the subs’ bench to score with two screaming free-kicks to help Arsenal overcome Vitoria Guimaraes in the Europa League.

He said: “Scoring twice is great for my confidence but Auba has also scored a free-kick this season so now we will talk to decide who will take them when we are both playing.

“He let me take that penalty and as soon as I arrived at Arsenal he helped me to settle in along with Alex Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi.

“Myself, Auba and Laca have played very little together so far, maybe around just 30 minutes. But now Laca is back from injury and I hope we will play more together because we get on very well.

“We are all French so we understand each other but it’s important for me to learn English so I can begin to communicate with everyone.

“I knew that coming to England would be harder for me than to be playing in the French League because the intensity of the football is totally different here.

“I am not yet at my best physically because I was at the African Cup of Nations in the summer and didn’t have a proper pre-season like the other players.”
