TikTok user and teacher reveals present from work

A painfully honest teacher made a video about gifts she does not want from her students’ parents this season.

As Christmas approaches and schools prepare for the break, many parents opt to express gratitude to their child’s teacher with a small token of appreciation.

From handmade cards to chocolates, candles, and even unconventional items like Stanley Cups, teachers often find themselves heading home with an assortment of presents.

Thankfully, US teacher Natalia made a list of her no-nos, to help steer parents in the right direction.

The content creator, who goes by username @primaryfocus, raked in over 16,000 views after discussing the issue online.

Sound off- what other gifts would you rather not get for teacher appreciation week? 3 funny gifts teachers do not wantIf youve been in the classroom long enough you will have gotten one of these gifts thats not quite the blessing you hoped for. #teacherhumor #teacherappreciationweek #teacherappreciationgift #teacherappreciation #funnygifts #teachersoftiktok

She said: “If you’ve been in the classroom long enough you will have received one of these ‘gifts’ that’s not quite the blessing you hoped for. Here are three gifts that teachers don’t want.

“Number one – anything in a Victoria Secret bag. I don’t care that you didn’t get them underwear that lotion smells bad and now you have a Victoria’s Secret bag on your desk. It’s just awkward.”

The second undesirable gift, according to Natalie, is sweet treats for the entire class. She advised parents to check with teachers beforehand to avoid an overwhelming sugar rush and crash.

The North Carolina teacher said: “Listen, it’s cool that you want to get everybody donuts but you need to ask ahead when and if the teacher is OK with that, because what it is for us is a giant sugar high from all of our kids and then the sugar crash.

“It’s just way too much sugar, especially for the little guys.” She added: “And last one, they don’t want your advances. I’ve had a few dads try to come on to me over the years and it is uncomfortable. Remember you’ve got the entire school year to work together. Maybe just go online and find someone.”

While some agreed with her take, others were taken aback by her bluntness.

One user said: “Reason why I don’t give teachers c**p.” Another wrote: “My god, just shut up. I hope your students’ parents get you Jack s**t now. Ungrateful.”

“So negative, be grateful they got anything.” Another teacher said: “As a preschool teacher, it’s disappointing you think this way. I hope your kids don’t get you s**t.”

But one other said: “I agree with this video.” Another user suggested if parents get sweet treats for the class, to hand them out before they go home. They said: “That’s why you pass the treats out right before dismissal.”
