Novichok victim Charlie Rowley has found love again – but has told the dad of his former girlfriend killed by the nerve agent that she will never be forgotten.
Charlie, 45, lost partner Dawn Sturgess when she used perfume containing the poison after he found the bottle and gave it to her.
He also succumbed to the toxin and was placed in a coma, only finding out the 44-year-old mum-of-three had died when he came around two weeks later.
Just over a year on, he has found love again with 46-year-old mum-of-one Kim Mahoney.
Charlie’s brother Matthew said: “It’s great Charlie has a girlfriend. I met her this week, she is really nice, so it’s really good for them.
“They knew each other from Salisbury and it seems to be going all right, they seem very happy together, they look like they have been together for years.
“Apparently he did phone Dawn’s dad and tell him that he met someone else but that Dawn would never be forgotten, and they are happy for him, I’m told.”
The pair have also gone public on Facebook .
Friends took to the site to congratulate them, with Charlie replying to one well-wisher: “It’s all good, mate.”
Charlie and Dawn fell ill at his flat in Amesbury, Wilts, last year, two months after ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned in an attack in Salisbury.
