Mum who claims £30,000 per year in benefits to fly to Turkey for £2,500 boob job

A mother who claims £30,000 a year in benefits is set to fly out to Turkey for a £2,500 boob job operation.

Marie Buchan, 36, wants to enhance her assets from a 34B to 36DD and will board a flight to Istanbul on January 6 for three nights.

The former lapdancer will stay in a hotel paid for by the clinic before coming back home to Birmingham.

Mum-of-eight Marie says she managed to raise the money for the boob enhancement through car boot sales and part time jobs as a care assistant and mechanic.

However despite working less than 16 hours a week, she is still eligible for her bumper state pay out.

Marie defended her decision and told the Mail on Sunday: "I know the trolls will start having a go at me, but I’m doing this for me and me alone so that I feel more confident.

"I do not drink or smoke. I don’t go out clubbing.

"I have been saving for two and a half years from my jobs and boot fairs to raise this money.

"None of it is being paid for out of my benefits. By going abroad, I have halved the cost."

Marie and her kids live in a four-bedroom housing association property.

Marie had to make cuts to her stretched budget to cover the fine, and claims that she has no spare cash.

Last year Birmingham Live revealed how Marie took her first job in 16 years working one day a week as a mechanic in a local garage to beat the £26,000 benefits cap.

She was also criticised last year for stumping up £200 per month for a horse called Bobby.

Marie is no stranger to controversy.

She previously claimed she was being turned down for her dream job as a garage mechanic because of sexism.

The former lapdancer said she had applied for dozens of positions after gaining a Level 2 diploma in mechanics.
