After rumors began to swirl that the reason behind Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s divorce was because one of them had been unfaithful, sources close to the couple told TMZ that none of it is true.
The source also shut down any speculation that Zolciak might want to come back to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after her run on the show ended during Season 5, which aired in 2012.
Last week, news broke that Zolciak and Biermann had both filed for divorce within days of each after 11 years together.
According to court docs obtained by Page Six, the former NFL submitted his paperwork on May 5, while Zolciak’s attorney filed hers on May 7. They were both processed on May 8.
Nonetheless, a source told us exclusively that the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 44, had been thinking of calling it quits “months ago” but just “didn’t tell anyone” until she filed.
Aside from the open marriage and chesting rumors, there was speculation that the estranged couple may have split due to financial strain. However, an insider of ours tells us that money issues were not the sole reason they called it off.
“Financial issues cause burdens in people’s relationships, of course. That’s a common thing, [but] it played a factor,” the source told us last week.

The “Don’t Be Tardy” stars — whose reality show was canceled in 2021 after eight seasons — owe the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018.
They have also faced real estate issues after their Georgia mansion — which they are both currently still residing in amid the split — went into foreclosure a handful of times.
The latest foreclosure occurred in February after the two failed to make a payment on a $1.65 million loan from 2016.
Facing an auction set for March 7, they were ultimately able to settle the debt and stave off the auction.
Monetary issues aside, the two are currently battling over custody of their four minor children. They share children Kroy “KJ” Jr., 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.
Biermann filed a request for “sole legal and physical custody” of the four kids but did not include daughters Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21 — whom he adopted in 2013 — as the two are now adults.
Zolciak is also seeking sole legal custody of the children but is allowing the former NFL player to have visitation rights.
