Kim Kardashian made the internet erupt once again as she took to the steps of the 2022 Met Gala wearing one of the most iconic dresses in the world this week.
For fashion's biggest event of the year, the 41 year old chose to don Marilyn Monroe's £3.8m dress, which the Hollywood icon sported to sing Happy Birthday to American President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Whilst hundreds applauded the reality star for sporting the infamous dazzling naked dress, others have slammed the moment as 'unethical', pointed out how fragile the gown is and claimed it's a sign of disrespect for designers.

Vanessa Jones, Curator of Clothes at Leeds Museums and Galleries told The i Newspaper: "It's really unethical, Kim wearing this dress undermines the really important work that curators and conservators put into their collections. It makes our work look frivolous."
Sarah Scaturro, a former Head Conservator for the Costume Institute at Met, which the Gala raises funds for, tweeted: “The Met and Vogue celebrating putting a museum artefact on Kim Kardashian is a new low.”
Fans even took to Kim's Instagram post of the outfit to share their unhappiness at her wearing the prized possession.
One said: "I usually love Kim’s outfits but I feel like this dress should of been kept in a museum as a part of history."
A second followed with: "Why would they let anyone where that dress? Now it’s not so iconic anymore.. that dress should have never been touched!!"
Another added: "It’s a no for me, that dress should have only been worn by THE true icon, Marilyn Monroe."
Whilst a fan asked "How did she fit into it? I pray to God that they didn't alter this gown that would just be deplorable."
On the red carpet, Kim admitted to having to loose 16 pounds in order to fit into the original 6,000 crystal gown that couldn't be altered due to its history.

Speaking before the star-studded event, she shared: "The dress was transported by guards and I had to wear gloves to try it on."
"So when it didn’t fit me I wanted to cry because it can’t be altered at all."
Author of The Girl: Marilyn Monroe, the Seven Year Itch, and the Birth of an Unlikely Feminist, Michelle Morgan said to the New York Post: “I am extremely disappointed to see this 60-year-old, iconic dress being worn in public,”
The dress was created by Jean-Louis from a sketch done by Bob Mackie and remained part of Monroe's estate until her friend Anna Strasberg enlisted Christie's to sell it in 1999.
It was then re-auctioned in 2016, when the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum in Florida purchased the item. It has been on display until Kim wore it for the Gala.
