Kate Middleton, 38, became part of the Royal Family when she married Prince William, also 38. Like many who marry into the family, she took on a senior working role.
Kate and Prince William have both worked on behalf of the monarch.
The Duchess has stepped out with her husband and with other members of the Royal Family.
She is thought to have a good relationship with her royal in-laws, including Queen Elizabeth II.
Body language expert Judi James claimed the two royals have a genuinely close friendship.
She told Express.co.uk: “The body language signals between the Queen and Kate currently suggest a very relaxed, warm and relatively easy-going friendship with both women enjoying the other’s company.
“While the Queen always appears to affirm the fact that, despite her age, she is not in any need of support or aid, she often looks happiest when her granddaughter-in-law and future Queen accompanies her or acts as co-host.
“Kate seems very adept at keeping a quiet eye on the Queen but without fussing.”
The Duchess has looked happy to be in the company of her grandmother-in-law.
However, she is also thought to be close with the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip.
He may have officially retired from royal duties in 2017, but Prince Philip and Kate have been spotted together over the years.
During these outings, they have a bond that may come as a surprise, Judi claimed.
She said: “These delightful poses suggest unexpectedly rich bonds between Kate and Prince Philip based on not just affection but also a shared sense of humour and fun.”
The expert commented on one of their final engagements together before Prince Philip retired.
While appearing at Trooping the Colour in June 2017, the two were sharing a joke.
Judi added: “Both royals tend to be fans of protocol at public events but Philip’s animated chat here could have put them firmly on the naughty step, as judging from the poses of the rest of the group they are having a chat and a giggle during a fly-past.”
The royals were joined by many members of the family as they stood on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the event.
Kate was joined by Prince William, Prince George, seven, and Princess Charlotte, five.
While looking after her children, Kate showed her affection for Prince Philip by still giving him as much attention as possible.
“Kate manages to control her two boisterous children with her hands while turning her head to pay full eye-attention to Philip,” Judi explained.
“Her dimpled smile and softened eye expression show genuine affection but her fully opened-mouth laugh suggests she’s finding Philip’s comments genuinely hilarious.”
