Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette is having a fancier Christmas than you
18th December 2018

This holiday season, Karl Lagerfeld‘s precious pet cat Choupette is giving back.

“Instead of a gift for me, I’ve been asking Daddy to gift rescue felines and shelter cats my Cheshire & Wain custom collar,” Choupette told Page Six Style (via her social media manager, Ashley Tschudin). “Every feline deserves to look and feel their best, especially those looking for forever homes.”

Added the pampered cat, “The best gift I ever received was a home with Daddy Karl at the chateau — although technically, I was the gift.”

Priced at $80, the limited-edition luxury collars — made in bright blue leather to match Choupette’s eyes — come in three sizes and can be accessorized with blue gem ($20) or classic pearl ($16) charms to complete the catwalk-worthy look.

Of course, Lagerfeld’s fluffy BFF will be gifting her designer dad something special, too. “A new year calls for a new pair of the darkest shades I can find for him,” she said. “Between gloves and sunnies, Daddy can never have enough!”

Come December 25, Choupette and Lagerfeld will celebrate with a few special family traditions. “It depends where in the world we’ve jetted off to for the holidays — but no matter what, Daddy makes a point to have my chef whip up a special Christmas meal,” she shared. “Chef Ozuru (formerly of Nobu Paris) and other culinary magnates have concocted custom dishes such as Japanese-style beef or chicken gelée with asparagus.”

As for what Choupette’s hoping to find stashed away in her Christmas stocking? “Catnip and caviar, dahhhling! Catnip and caviar!” she purred.
