‘I invited 27 people to my kid’s 3rd birthday – not one person showed up’
13th December 2023

A mum was heartbroken after nobody showed up to her daughter’s third birthday party – despite saying they would be there.

Breanna Strong, 27, from Salt Lake City, Utah, took to TikTok to share the devastating ordeal she and her daughter went through.

She said her daughter had been really excited about the party. They had booked an indoor playground, ordered pizzas, and bought cake and a lot more goodies for her guests.

Despite the parents of 13 kids’ RSVPing and saying that they would be attending, no one turned up.

Breanna took to TikTok to share her disappointment. She said: “We invited 27 kids to Avery’s 3rd birthday party.

“Not a single one of her friend’s showed up. Money and time wasted.

“Breaks my momma heart so bad. Literally going home to snuggle my babies.”

Speaking to MailOnline, Breanna said she had even made a Facebook event for the party and had been posting on the event page leading up to the day saying how excited Avery was about the party.

Her friends had replied with responses saying: “We will be there,” “Can’t wait, the kids will be so excited.”

But on the day, three of the families changed their RSVP from “going” to “not going”.

Fifteen minutes into the party when no one responded to her message, Breanna realised they had all bailed on the party.

Fortunately Avery still had a good time as she was too young to understand what had happened and still got everything she wanted.

Breanna told Mail Online that her feelings were hurt by this, but she was glad to find out who her true friends were.

After initially posting about it on Instagram stories, Breanna said the parents of the invited children reached out to her with excuses such as “It was an awful morning with the boys,” “I’m so sorry. We forgot,” and “I wish we could have come! The kids aren’t feeling well.”

But she is not having any of it.

She added: “To me it was very careless of the parents who were invited. I sent texts, posted in the event on Facebook several times and even made a post on Instagram about how excited Avery was about her party tomorrow.

“It’s a lot of time, effort and money to set up special events for anything. RSVPs are not what they use to be.

“I also feel like parties have unfortunately died out during COVID. I’m still disappointed in what happen but I know there is always next year.”
