What does a cephalopod and the beast with two backs have in common? They both have eight limbs.
You may not think of octopuses as a very sexy animal, but their tangle of eight legs makes for great sex position inspiration.
The octopus sex position is all about getting up close and personal to your partner, and intertwining your bodies as if they’re one.
A bonus of this is it allows for deeper penetration, as well as clitoral stimulation through thrusting against your partner’s torso.
Here’s how to do it, from the point of view of a woman as the receiving partner and man as the penetrating partner. You can switch this up with a strap-on or try it anally if that works better for you.
- The man sits on the floor with his hands on the ground. His legs should be slightly spread and bent, with feet on the floor.
- The woman sits in-between the man, again with her hands on the ground. Her ankles should sit on either side of the man’s shoulders.
- The man then enters the woman, and thrusts upwards. This helps stimulate the G-spot on the front wall of the vagina.
- The woman can also grind back and forth to rub her clitoris on the man’s torso.
Wrapping your arms around each other (four of the octopus’s eight legs) is encouraged, and helps give you some purchase to master the position.
Similarly, if you’re getting tired or struggling holding yourselves up, you can lean against a sofa or wall to add some stability.
This intense position is best suited to people who love to watch their partner as they have sex.
It’s an intimate position that can stimulate those all-important erogenous zones, but it is physically challenging, so don’t get too disheartened if you don’t get it right first time.
Practice makes perfect.
