Frothy iced coffee ice lollies are set to be the next big thing this summer
13th April 2021

Remember when the whipped coffee hack took over our timelines last year?

Well, there’s a new coffee trend in town that might be even better!

Especially, if the weather warms up and Britain gets a belting summer (please, please, please).

And, no it’s not iced coffee… or at least not as you know it.

Iced coffee ice lollies are the next cool thing to try out.

And, they’re so aesthetically pleasing and delicious that we’re surprised nobody has made a big deal about them before.

So, how do you make them?

What's your favourite frozen treat? Tell us in the comments…

Well, it depends on how you like your coffee.

You’ll need some ice lolly moulds first of all, then you can make a pot of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature or colder.

If you like it black, you can pour it straight in the moulds and freeze it, but there’s a more delicious way to make this treat.

And, it's pretty easy to do.

Start by mixing your coffee with cream and sugar (or honey or syrup if you prefer) and refrigerating.

Then mix some cream with a little bit of sugar until dissolved.

Pour the cream into the lolly moulds and freeze for an hour.

This will give you a cute white tip on your lolly which looks like a classic iced coffee.

Like what you see? Then fill your boots…

Finally, add the cold coffee mix to the moulds and and stick in the lolly sticks – you can keep them in place with a foil cap on the end which you stab them through.

Freeze overnight and voila!

Sweet, caffeine-filled (though you can use decaf) popsicles which will start any warm day off on the right note.

We can’t wait to test and tweak this recipe until it’s just perfect!
