A loving couple who first locked eyes with each other on the maternity ward when they were just days old have tied the knot 30 years later – and they are now expecting a baby of their own.
The incredible love story, which has all the makings of a classic 90s rom com, saw the newborns become childhood friends, only to lose touch and be reunited years later at the hairdressers.
Jemma and Daniel Langley were born just a day apart at the William Angliss Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Their mothers formed a bond on the ward and became firm friends with baby pictures of Jemma and Daniel appearing side-by-side in the local paper.
But the course of true love never did run smooth and Jemma and Daniel soon lost touch when the families drifted apart.
Years later Jemma began visiting a new hairdresser, who turned out to be Daniel’s sister.
Jemma told the Herald Son : "She worked from her mum’s house, and Daniel showed up one day,”
“He was wearing a hat, and he went to kiss me on the cheek and I got hair dye on his hat!”
The pair began dating and became an official couple in 2014.
She said: “When we met up again, we were just drawn to each other. I absolutely believe in fate, and I think we were meant to be together.”
On Valentines Day last year, Jemma posted a picture of the couple on Instagram when they were children.
She wrote: "It’s so crazy to think that I have known you for almost 28 years. You were one of the first people I met in this world and it still gives me goostbumps knowing that I will be marrying you!
"We may have lost touch for most of those 28 years but something definitely brought us back to each other. You make me incredible happy and I cannot wait for our future together.
After Daniel proposed the couple got married in April last year and are now expecting their first baby in March.
Jemma said: “Every time we tell people (the story), they can’t actually believe it.
"It’s pretty crazy."
