When is the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle, what’s the distance and which sort of horses can enter?

The 2019 Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle will take place on Thursday, March 14 at 15:30 (3.30pm).

It’s a Grade 1 National Hunt Hurdle race open to horses aged four years or older and is run over a distance of three miles.

Who is running in the 2019 Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle?

It’s too early to say who will turn up but the likes of Penhill, Supasundae and Faugheen could all have the race as an option.

Who won the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle in 2018?

Willie Mullins’ Penhill (12-1) won the race in brilliant style under jockey Paul Townend.

Supasundae (6-1) came home second with Wholestone (14-1) bagging third.

Which jockeys and trainers have won the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle the most? 

Paul Nicholls is the leading trainer thanks to Big Buck’s who won the race four times in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Ruby Walsh was on board for all of those wins and also won the 2017 renewal on Nichols Canyon so is the leading jockey with five wins.
