THE GUNNERS’ title hopes are showing few signs of coming off the rails but can out-of-sorts Crystal Palace throw a spanner in the works?

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace betting preview
League leaders Arsenal put in a dominant display at Fulham last weekend, a message perhaps sent to their doubters that they should not be expected to fade away during the run-in.
Prior to that, there had been questions asked with late goals needed to beat both Aston Villa and Bournemouth, although win they did.
On paper, this should really be another three points – if gained, victory would take Arsenal eight points clear at the top as Manchester City are involved in the FA Cup this weekend.
Worryingly for them, Palace are the league’s out-of-form side with no game won yet in 2023. They’ve scored just five goals so far this year, a run which takes in 12 matches in all competitions, and now sit just three points above the relegation zone.
Against the sides currently in the top half of the table, they are winless in 17 attempts.
The good news is they still have every one of their relegation rivals still to play so perhaps this can be seen as a free hit, although clearly the need to break that winless run is great.
Just three shots on target in their last four games speaks volumes of their troubles but they can take some heart from the fact Arsenal have been far from watertight at home – in contrast to their away performances, Mikel Arteta’s men have seemingly been happy to try to outscore the opposition on home soil with only three clean sheets earned at the Emirates.
A home win beckons but Palace are rarely rolled over easily.

Arsenal to win and both teams to score
It’s tempting to back Arsenal to win to nil given Palace’s woes in front of goal.
Yet the season-long stats show that the Gunners have managed to do that in just two of their 13 home games.
Eight of their 10 home victories have both via the BTTS method with Leicester, West Ham and, most recently, Bournemouth all finding the net in defeat at the Emirates.
Palace have managed to score in defeats at both Manchester clubs (the other current members of the top three) and so odds of 23/10 about a repeat are certainly worth considering.

Wilfried Zaha 2+ shots
Palace need a spark at the moment and the most likely man to provide it, as has long been the case, is Zaha.
He was back in his more familiar position on the left of the attack on Wednesday night but still managed to extend his impressive shots record.
The Ivorian has now had 2+ shots in 15 of his 23 Palace starts this season. Of course, he’s up against a pretty tight defence here but it’s also one which could be shorn of a key component in the shape of William Saliba after he limped off on Thursday.
Zaha hit three shots against Manchester City the other week and so 6/4 about him having at least two at the Emirates looks a bit on the large side.

Gabriel to score at any time
Everyone likes a chunky goalscorer price, right?
Well, you could do a lot worse than back Arsenal centre-back Gabriel to score for the second week running in this game.
Having netted against Fulham last Sunday, the Brazilian should be relishing facing a Palace defence which has long-standing problems defending set-plays.
While they’ve managed to reduce the number of goals they’ve conceded from such situations this season, the underlying data is still worrying with only two teams having given up more shots from set-pieces.
Gabriel is an obvious candidate in the shots markets but at odds of 13/2, it looks worth a try that he finds the net again.
